ENGAGED: A Surprisingly Cozy Summer Session in Richmond’s Forest Hill

The heat in Virginia has been brutal this year, which has made most outdoor activities pretty miserable. Our rule of thumb for most sessions, especially in hot months, is to start early (or late) and take things easy. We headed out early with Whitney and Ian for a mosey through the rocks of the river, followed by some more leisurely walking through Forest Hill Park. After weeks of strategizing, Whitten proposed to Alli by the Tidal Basin during D.C.’s Cherry Blossom Festival. They’d agreed they’d wait until after Alli finished med school, which Whitten honored to the letter - he waited only about two weeks after her graduation to pop the question.
