ENGAGED: A Crisp and Cozy Morning Session in Richmond’s Forest Hill Park

Our top ten photos from a chilly sunrise engagement session at Forest Hill Park

(okay so there are eleven)

Y’all, it has gotten quite melty as of late – so much so that we are seeking solace in the memory of this very chilly and hilarious February engagement session with Kirsten and Chris.

Things of note:
1. We had spent the previous day photographing Callie + Sam’s wedding
2. Whitney is not a morning person. She can hang at, like, seven thirty,
but before that she is barely useful and potentially delirious**.
3. Casey loves to suggest sunrise sessions.
4. It was sub-20º at sunrise in Forest Hill Park.

First of all, we are huge fans of Kirsten and Chris. They can simultaneously keep it cool while feeding the comedic energy in the room (or forest). The days up to our adventure consisted of raucous laughter, virtual team sweater shopping and excited GIF exchanges in the group text chain.

The morning of the session was beautiful and c r i s p . Not only are these two Functioning Adults at sunrise, but they seemed completely unbothered by the arctic climate. **Whitney, dressed as a haggard winter goblin, tottered around in a cloud of delusion, which worked well in the party’s favor as it kept us all in good spirits. We got to excitedly ooh and ahh over the collective fashion choices while these absolute ANGELS humored our tomfoolery and stood (or sat) for photos.

Here are our ten favorites from the best company one could ask for at the a** crack of dawn.
Come with us on this journey and grasp frantically at the memory of being cold.

1: The light hypothermia was so worth this beautiful light. Also, Kirsten and Chris’ coat game is fantastic.

2-3: Kirsten’s laugh is the best, and we have to toss in a classic smooch.

5: Here we’ve been led to believe that Kirsten and Chris are, in fact, the owners of this establishment and we are being greeted on their MTV Cribs segment.

6. Oh, stop it, you two.

7. We love a good cozy forest snuggle, a kiss on the head, but also fringe.

8. Look at these two, being the poster children of winter fashion,
on some stone stairs in the morning light.

9. BLING BREAK

10. We wrap up our list with these two sharing a laugh in front of this beautiful floral mural (which we didn’t even know existed - thank you Kirsten).
