MARRIED: An Easygoing Ceremony (During a Hurricane) on the Windy Beaches of Sandbridge
On a cool and and blustery September afternoon, Natalie and Grant exchanged vows on the beach in the attendance of their closest friends and family. Their small Episcopalian service was
decorated by loved ones and officiated by an old friend from days at summer camp.
The typically bustling city was empty and battered from a season of storms. The quiet was broken by strong gusts of wind and the buzzing of family and friends preparing for the ceremony inside. As Natalie and Grant took care of finishing touches, flower girls ran around between rooms, taking peeks at their progress.
The breezy beach served as the perfect backdrop for the thoughtful touches of florals, greenery, and lace. Grass, skirts, and hair whipped through the air that carried the sound of strings as Natalie and her father processed into the ceremony. Bill, an old friend from summer camp, delivered the service to the small gathering of guests through crashes of waves and roars of tropical winds.
The newlyweds sped effortlessly through portraits in record time in order to seek relief from the weather and join their party for dancing, toasts, and even more sweet details gathered by Natalie.
We left the party-goers feeling fortunate to have witnessed such generosity and love between friends and family. Natalie’s graceful confidence and Grant’s quiet humor blended together in a sweet display of enduring love, which was further solidified by the addition of their sweet son River, who served as the tiniest and most adorable best man.
