Getting Ready at Malden Hill on Grandfather’s Film Camera

A sentimental wedding surprise.

When Phil reached out with a thoughtful and nostalgic idea to surprise his future wife, Stacey, we were completely on board.

Phil had gotten hold of Stacey’s grandfather’s old film cameras and asked if we’d be willing to photograph her getting ready with them. We brought along the Hasselblad and Pentax, enjoying leaning into the slow mystery that comes along with shooting with antique cameras.

We were so happy to find that Stacey and Phil loved our photos, saying that they treasured them for so many reasons. The most rewarding moments for us are in these spaces where our true love of image-making blends with these milestone moments for others. Both the process and the result become so special to us and our couples.

Stacey and Phil embraced the photography nerd factor.

If you want to lean into film processes for your wedding, we love opportunities to play with photography! Reach out to us with questions, ideas, or schedule a consultation below.
