The Cole Sisters: A Year in Review
Whew! We’ve been at this sister business for a year now, and we’re so fortunate to have had the chance to meet so many folks already. We’ve learned so much in this past year that we look forward to bringing into the next. We took a stroll down memory lane from this season of business and remembered all of the wonderful couples we’ve had the honor to work with since coming together to document your milestones.
Tamara and Michael were married on the rooftop of Mango Mangeaux on a fair-weathered Sunday afternoon. We had the absolute pleasure of photographing their sweet, family-oriented celebration.
Lexi and Ben’s wedding happened a couple months behind the original schedule, as concerns for COVID-19 brought them to reevaluate their original larger gathering in June. That didn’t stop them from having a fun, loving celebration with sweet details and all of the dancing.
On a cool and and blustery September afternoon, Natalie and Grant exchanged vows on the beach in the attendance of their closest friends and family. Their small Episcopalian service was
decorated by loved ones and officiated by an old friend from days at summer camp.
Leb + DJ gathered a handful of their closest family and friends at Candela Gallery, a photo gallery close to Leb’s (and Whitney’s*) heart. Their ceremony cut straight to the chase, and they were quickly, sweetly joined in marriage amid applause from their loved ones.
Jack proposed to Taylor during the holidays, among the twinkling lights of Kanawha Plaza in Downtown Richmond. We were fortunate to spend a little time with them in the chilly winter weather before they were off to celebrate the occasion over dinner.
Callie and Sam were an absolute joy to photograph, from their elegant ceremony at St. Mary of Sorrows Catholic Church, to their laid back and intimate lunch reception at Carmello’s restaurant in Old Town Manassas.
On a very chilly morning in February of 2021, we joined Kirsten and Chris at Forest Hill Park in Richmond, Virginia for a sunrise engagement session.
We had the privilege of serving as witnesses (and photographers) for Angelina and Ben’s teeny tiny nuptials at historic St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Powhatan, Virginia.
We met Sarah and Chad at the location of their upcoming wedding, Walkerton Tavern in Henrico, Virginia. We were able to spend the last light of the day with this sweet pair among the lush greens and historic elements of the property.
Alex reached out to us in 2020 to document his proposal to Claire on UVA’s campus. We were smitten with them from the get-go, and had an equally wonderful time photographing their elegant and emotion-filled wedding a few months later in Virginia Beach.
Tabbie and Jake hit close to home, literally – Jake (and now Tabbie) is our cousin! We had so much fun styling a perfect horseback proposal setup for the couple. This is the lake where they would later exchange vows in an intimate and elegant DIY celebration!
We joined Victoria and Brett at Avonlea Farms to document both their spring engagement session and summer wedding. These two are sweet as can be!
Trish and Vasili wanted the works in Richmond: we went from the Carillon, to Downtown, to Church Hill for their adorable springtime engagement session.
Amy and Austin came up from North Carolina to get their engagement photos in Richmond - we did a double-header session with them, splitting time between Downtown Richmond and Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden (their future wedding location)!
We spent the last hour of sunlight with Emilia and Nick, who dressed perfectly for the elegant and natural scenery of The Mill at Fine Creek, but also kept us laughing the whole time with their hilarious personalities and willingness to get goofy.
Thank you so much to anyone who has sent us a kind word, followed our newsletter, hit “like” on a post, shared our work with your friends, and asked us to photograph your day. Your love and support have been amazing, and we hope to continue to bring good things your way!
